This page showcases my submission to Pwnisher's Chasm's Call challenge.
For the challenge, every artist was given 1 month to create a 3D render based on the provided template. Using a basic geometric setup and a camera that slowly pans, it was up to the artists (me) to create a story and 3D render within the given time limit and technical specifications.
For my concept, I decided to make a scene inspired by the Hercules animation by Disney. The scene where the souls are swirling down into the gates of hell made me think what if they were coming up instead and from there I created a concept where there is an ancient order that safeguards the barrier between hell and the mortal realm.
This project showcases all of my skills in a 3D environment. Some skills I had to use for this project include but are not limited to: environmental storytelling, kitbashing, modeling, texturing, pbr materials, shader nodes, compositing nodes, character animation, rigging, VFX, lighting, fire simulation, and smoke simulation.
Below are some progress pictures taken along the way
